Introduction
Before jumping into everything that February has to offer we would be remiss not to mention and offer thanks to everyone who pitched in to help us out during the month of January, both at NOIR itself and with the dungeon at The Taboo Sex Show. And it wasn’t just our own volunteers and staff who did such a fabulous job, it was those of Sin City, MVK and Vancouver Underground, all of whom pitched in together to show that Vancouver’s kink scene is, indeed, a community. Here at NOIR we’re certainly looking forward to the opportunity to work together more in the future.
But all of that was back in January, and as Janet Jackson once asked “What have you done for me lately?” Well, in the case of MVK the answer happens to be A LOT. This weekend of February 3-5 is the second annual Westward Bound Conference, and while you’ll find a little info on it below if you haven’t already purchased tickets you owe it to yourself to check out their website.
And of course February also brings with it Vancouver’s usual assortment of Fetish Nights. We particularly encourage you to check out NOIR’s special themed one this month.

NOIR Fetish Ball Saturday February 18th
It’s February, the month in which we celebrate love, and its wilder sibling LUST, and where better to do that than NOIR Fetish Ball. When it comes to getting down and dirty with love we don’t think anybody does it better.

Munches
We were recently asked why we don’t include info on all the local munches (gatherings of kinky folk to just talk, usually held at a restaurant or café) rope nights, swing events, and other happenings around the Lower Mainland, and the answer is quite simple: SPACE. We don’t want these newsletter to get so long that nobody reads them. In the interest of getting that info out to folks that might not have it, in each newsletter this year we’ll provide a link to a resource for one of those areas.
This month that resource is the local Munches group on Fetlife. You’ll need to become a Fetlife member to access it, but if you aren’t a Fetlife member it’s well worth joining for far more than just this info.

Erotic Vancouver Launches (Beta)
The organizers of NOIR decided we wanted to be more like a rock band, and so we decided to embark on side projects. DJ Logik does kick ass air-brush paintings, and being of a less artistic bend Reive decided to start a webpage that would be a resource for all things erotic in Vancouver. Fetish nights, dungeon parties, swingers events, sex shops – you name it and eventually he hopes you’ll find it here.
Plus you’ll find links and commentary to kink and other sexuality issues that are in the news.
